Wright exhibition team pilot and instructor for the Wright Company. Born August 14, 1881 near Kiev, Russia. Died College Park, Maryland June 11, 1912. Welsh was known as one of the most skilled of the Wright pilots, and was considered their best instructor. He was the only member of the team to remain employed by the Wrights after the team. He was killed during trials for the Army when his Wright Model C collapsed in flight.
