First Flight Centennial Federal Advisory Board

The Centennial of Flight Commemoration Act, as amended, established a First Flight Centennial Federal Advisory Board to advise the Commission on matters related to the Act. The Board is composed of nineteen members including the Secretary of the Interior, the Librarian of Congress, the Secretaries of the Navy and the Air Force, and the Secretary of Transportation, or their designees; six citizens of the United States appointed by the President; four citizens appointed by the majority leader of the Senate in consultation with the minority leader of the Senate; and four citizens appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in consultation with the minority leader of the House of Representatives.

To date, thirteen Advisory Board members (including the five statutory members) have been identified. (Appendix C lists all confirmed Advisory Board members as of the date of this Report.)
