The 2003 Vectren Dayton Air Show presented by
Kroger takes off July 17, 18, 19 and 20 at Dayton
International Airport as the grand finale of the
city's 17-day celebration of the 100th Anniversary
of Powered Flight.
This once-in-a-lifetime event offers an precedented
joint appearance each day of all three North
American Military Jet Demonstration Teams:
US Navy Blue Angels
US Air Force Thunderbirds
Canadian Snowbirds
The 2003 Air Show features an unparalleled event of
flying exhibitions and ground display aircraft.
The program showcases the significant contributions
to progress in the First Century of Powered Flight
by era, category and type. These presentations
include:
Inventing Flight Era highlighted with a collection
of all six Wright Gliders and Flyers dating to 1899
World War I Era complete with historic aircraft
including a vintage Triplane
Golden Age Era with historic commercial airliners
including the Ford Trimotor, classic air racers and
a replica of the record-setting Spirit of St. Louis
Jet Age Era including a Soviet MiG-17 and the
world's oldest flying jet
Current and Future Era with the world's most
current aircraft including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. |
