Pioneer military aviator. Born December 9, 1879 in Washington, Connecticut. Died April 25, 1967 in Washington, D.C. Foulois flew with Orville Wright at Fort Myer in 1908, and essentially taught himself to fly the Model B in Texas by corresponding with Orville Wright in Ohio. He ultimately achieved the rank of Brigadier General in the Air Force.
